Period Birthdays:
Fun ... Entertaining ...
AND Educational
Pictures of recent birthdays:

Trying on a Chain Mail Coif (flexible head protection).

Trying on a "Pig-Nosed" Bassinet (jousting helmet).

From the birthday of "Prince James".

Note the colourful costumes we can bring as well.

All of our birthday parties are hands-on and interactive. We bring in examples of Medieval-style armor for the party-goers to handle; Medieval games to play; costumes to try on; we teach dances and songs and talk about what life was like during the Middle Ages. We make the birthday person the "royalty" of the day. "Their Highness" gets to pick the day's activities.

All prices include a 90 minute visit from a costumed instructor or instructors from The Interactive History Company. In all cases the instructors of AKT Interactive History are happy to work with you to integrate our activities with any special activities in your party schedule (e.g. birthday cake presentation, gift opening, etc.) Our instructors are also willing to adapt with your changing needs as the party progresses, to the extent that the 90 minute time limit will allow.

A Birthday Faire
$200.00 - One male or female Instructor giving a general introduction to the Middle Ages and coordinating a presentation of period games and pastimes, as well as presenting a selection of medieval style armor for the guests to examine and try-on. The child-guests are provided with medieval style tabards and belts to wear during the party so they can look and feel like they are a part of a Medieval manor for the day.

A Knightly Birthday
$250.00 - A single Interactive History Company Knight in armor giving an introduction to the medieval time period specifically from the perspective of a knight and the activities that a knight-in-training might participate in; which includes Medieval tabards and belts for all child-guests to wear during the party, a selection of medieval style armor for the birthday guests to try on as well as having the guests participate in activities related to a knight's training for balance, eye-hand-coordination, etc. These include a quintain for the young "squires" to charge at, the hunker-hauser game of balance, storming the castles, target games, the jousting "sticks-n-rings" and a selection of strategy games.

A Birthday Tournament Royale
$350.00 - Two Interactive History Company Instructors in Full Armor presenting our entire Medieval Birthday Party program with the addition of fluttering medieval banners and a maypole. The presentation culminates with a presentation of a Medieval style tournament 'combat-afoot' between the two knights.

A birthday party or celebration with The Interactive History Company is a very popular presentation and one that will remain as a highlight in everyone's memory.

We do most of our birthday parties for younger folk (ages 4 - 15 years of age). However, we can modify our presentations for older teens and adults.

We also do presentations and consulting for weddings and other celebrations such as business receptions, theme parties, etc.

Please email us or call us at (206) 933-8681 for more information or to set up a date for your Medieval Celebration.

Yours in service to the ideals of Chivalry, I remain,

** Decorations are in the form of Heraldic Banners.

Here is an example of a poem especially written for one birthday party "noble" by Sir Gregory of The Interactive History Company.

Of all the things of Knighthood

Of all the things of Knighthood's lure, The swords and spears and shields

The Banners flying from the walls Of castles and the fields...

The horses charging at the lists The glint of armor's steel

The best and noblest of them all Are hearts where Truth is real.

Written for the birthday celebration of Peter H.
